Colheita Port (Includes Kopke presentation box)
***96 Points- Mark Squires, eRobertParker.com #223 March 2016***
The 1966 Colheita Tawny Port was bottled in 2015 with 126.3 grams per liter of residual sugar, and comes with a bar top cork (as is typical here). As we start getting seriously old in the lineup from Sogevinus this issue, this shows what you get with increasing age: the superb concentration of flavor, the long, intense finishes and the complex medley of flavors that old Tawnies deliver effortlessly. That, to me, is what makes them worth the extra bucks. If some of the youngsters lean more to caramel, this adds more molasses with a touch of Brandy in the background.

Mid coloured red centre with an orange colour rim. Spring flowers on the nose - elderflower. Medium mid-palate with butterscotch and caramel. Some tingle in the aftertaste that delivers more than you would expect.

Vintage Port UK bottled (Justerini )
A superb port from a classic vintage. The medium garnet colour has held up quite well with some bricking on the rim, but otherwise this wine is still showing youth and it has the backbone for a long life ahead. Complex layers of cocoa and spice with excellent balance and the velvety mouth- feel
Intense ruby. Elegant, fresh nose, finely balanced, redolent of violets. Palate is remarkably balanced as well: intense fruit (figs) in an excellent mineral/tannic frame. Lovely freshness and the flavours continue on the finish. Still has years of great life ahead.

The Warre 1966 has a unique mineral-scented character that gives the port its own complexity and style. The 1966 is fully mature.
